SDC #27 Meeting Registration - You must register by April 23
SDC Session #27 will focus on the following:
Building Information Modeling (BIM): SDC will continue its work on its BIM initiative during this meeting. SDC leadership will report on the progress made with the May 5th workshop on strategic planning toward an interoperability standard and with ACI's newly formed technical committee 131, Building Information Modeling of Concrete Structures.

Vision 2020: Attendees will be apprised of current and new activities related to "Vision 2020: A Vision for the Concrete Repair, Protection, and Strengthening Industry." Presentations and discussions include corrosion mitigating technologies and the SDC $250,000 corrosion mitigation research program.
Updates on Hot Issues: Fly Ash and Nuclear Construction: Richard Stehly, ACI President, will present recent developments with the EPA's potential ruling on fly ash as a hazardous material and its implications. Additionally, President Stehly will discuss the potential opportunity for SDC to assist the concrete industry in the updating of standards to support nuclear construction. Currently, the U.S. has 104 operating nuclear reactors with plans for 27 more facilities to be built in the next decade. SDC will be outlining strategies to support the updating of industry standards to support these efforts. Mike Schneider will be championing this initiative for SDC.
Technology Showcases: These presentations will highlight products/technologies with the potential to transform the market for concrete, including "Hi-Tech a New Tilt to Tilt-Up," "Accelerating Acceptance with Current Standards," "Green Sustainable High Performance Cement Technology," "IPRF Study on a New Method to Evaluate ASR," and "Laser Scanning for 3D and Forensic Investigation."
