Description:
Initially organized to react to concrete and flooring contractor concerns regarding floor curling occurring initial measurements (resulting in contractual and legal conflicts) and failure of moisture-sensitive floor coverings placed on concrete slabs. An Inter-Industry Work Group met in April 2003 to identify common floor problems and issued a report. The Summary Report on the Inter-Industry Working Group on Concrete Floor Issues is available for download.
Beginning in November 2004, the consortium subsequently spear-headed an effort to develop a document entitled “Guide for Concrete Slabs to Receive Moisture-Sensitive Floor Coverings” for ACI Committee 302. The goal of the consortium is to reduce the anticipated time until an ACI, consensus-approved document is available to the industry and public to two-years. It is expected that the review and approval process will begin in ACI Committee 302 by end of 3rd quarter, 2005. |
