THE CONCRETE INDUSTRY’S STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL SETS MEETING FOR THIS
FALL
Topics will include Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Performance Specifications for concrete
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (Aug. 10, 2009) - The concrete industry’s Strategic Development Council (SDC) has announced its upcoming Session #26 meeting this fall to discuss several issues and initiatives facing the concrete industry.
The meeting will be held at the Inverness Hotel & Conference Center, near Denver, Colo., Oct. 1-2, 2009. Topics and highlights of the meeting will include:

presentations and discussions on Building Informational Modeling (BIM) and its more effective and widespread use;

information on Performance Specifications for Concrete, in which SDC members and attendees will discuss future steps to making performance specifications an alternative and/or the preferred method for specifying and producing concrete;

insights from representatives from the legal and technical professions on the current regulatory and legislative actions related to concrete and the environment; and
-
a series of Technology Showcases which will highlight products and technologies with the potential to transform the market for concrete.

SDC membership consists of concrete industry leaders and exists to identify industry critical technologies and issues that affect the concrete community. The organization creates and implements various strategies that facilitate an efficient and effective transition into these progressive concrete technologies.
