DEBUTS NEW WEB SITE
In conjunction with new Web site, SDC also launches new electronic newsletter
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (March 31, 2008) - The concrete industry’s Strategic Development Council (SDC) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Web site at
www.concreteSDC.org.
The new, easy-to-use Web site features information to educate visitors on the organization, its members, upcoming meetings and events, and current projects under consideration of SDC. Users can also sign up for a new bimonthly e-newsletter on the site that will keep subscribers up to date on all SDC happenings.
“SDC has continued to grow at a rapid pace in recent years,” said Douglas J. Sordyl, managing director of SDC. “With the continued dedication of our members—the leaders of the concrete industry—we have made tremendous progress on technologies and issues that are critical to the industry today and have helped influence their outcomes.”
In fact, SDC members of SDC meet regularly throughout the year to work on a number of ongoing projects and initiatives, including the Concrete Sustainability Roadmap, Self-Consolidating Concrete Form Pressure Research, Performance Specifications, and Vision 2020–Repair & Protection. The organization comprises top-level concrete industry executives and works toward its vision of bringing together the industry for the purpose of promoting expeditious movement of meaningful concrete innovations through the standardization process into eventual commercial use.
Through the new Web site, users can also learn about upcoming SDC events, such as SDC Session #23, to be held in Irving, Texas, April 22-23. The meeting will feature presentations and break-outs on several current SDC initiatives, including the Concrete Sustainability Project, the Vision 2020 Repair/Protection Council, and consideration of Building Information Modeling and its potential impact within the concrete industry.
